Default Mark Levinson & MP3

Hi All.,
Just drove from 2008 Lexus with ML audio from the dealer. The ML Audio system is great and the best, but does not look like it can play MP3?
It says no music file found when I put my mp3 cd. Any help is appreciated.

It definitely should play MP3 CD's, but it won't play MP3 DVD's.

Will this disc play on a home CD/DVD player? Also, are you sure the music recorded on the disc is in the MP3 format?

when I make a cd in mp3 format the itune files do not play. If all of the mp3s files originate from itunes this might be the problem. The mp3 files that originated from a store bought cd still work.

If you're trying to play a song on a CD or DVD that you burned using iTunes, make sure the equipment on which you're trying to play the CD or DVD is appropriate for the disc's format. For example, if you burned a CD-RW disc, you can play it only on your computer and some newer CD players. If you burned an MP3 disc, it should work on your computer and on special MP3 CD players, but not on standard consumer audio CD players.

On our ML system I can and did burn a CD (not DVD) with 184 songs on it in MP3 format and it plays beautifully.

I estimate that somewhere between 180 and 200 songs max on a CD depending on each songs length.

And bitrate too...the majority of my MP3s are encoded at 192 kbps, which translates to roughly 8 hours (roughly 120 songs at an average of about 4 minutes per song) on a CD.

itunes music is not mp3.. its .m4p. music you rip into itunes from a CD will be whatever you want it to be.. you need to change it to mp3 from the default AAC i think.

It can also play WMA music, if your music is in that format.
