Isn't the IS using a shortened GS chassis?
Also, if you look carefully, the interior door handle unit of the gen 5 Camry is from a mid 90s LS. So is the keyless entry fob. I know that cause I have a brochure for a 1995 LS400 and we own a 2002 Camry XLE.

Yeah I don't think the Solara shares anything with SC...
As for the different characteristics between GS and ES, they're aiming for a different crowd so after all it's all personal preference. If you're looking for more comfortable smooth ride with a soft suspension then you'd prefer the ES over the more sporty, driver-oriented GS.

Yes, the chassis is the same, but shortened. Suspension is too. In fact the IS250 even shares its brakes with the GS300 and the IS350 shares with the GS430
