And yes, I agree that the $50K price tag is kinda scary for a fully loaded ES.

What's the deal with under the hood? Why are more automakers covering things with that black plastic? For appearance? That's a pain in the A$$ if you ask me.......I like to see the machinery when I lift the hood. An aggravation if a tech has to get to certain components!
Cool link btw!

I noticed two things John from Motor Trend has mentioned which are incorrect.
1) Adaptive front lighting (AFS) does NOT simultaneously swivel both headlights as he says. The left light goes from 0-15 degrees on a left turn and 0-5 degrees in a right turn.
2) He said he leased an at the time new 1996 ES300. 172 HP is incorrect. The 1MZ-FE 3.0L V6 at that time was 188 HP. This was the 1st generation 1MZ-FE.

Thats right. You would think I would carefully read over the Press Release and Specs I posted the other day.

If the new ES is $50K fully loaded...a person that spends that would be a freakin moron. Why not buy a loaded GS for that...hell you could probably buy a loaded GS3 AWD with PCS system for 48K.
Im almost positive that guy doesnt know what hes talking about....50K...lol righttt

Good call on that, Ryan. I was about to bring that up too, but this was my first time reading this thread and apparently, you beat me to it. I was about to say, "Hey! I don't remember my '94 ES having only 172 HP!"
