if its not too hard, i recommend that you turn them around. here's my rockfords. facing the back of the car makes them the loudest because the waves have time to expand and bounce off the back of the car and get bigger before they hit you. if they are going right into your seats, they don't have time to get as loud....
oh by the way, nice setup. good choices on equipment.

If our seats folded down, it might be different. Then the waves could get big right next to you, but I still think facing backwards is the best, in most vehicles.

egainer, i got a question. well a couple actually. i moved my box around, but the ground wire is really short. i have it grounded to a bolt holdin the cd player in place right now, but i need another place on the other end of the trunk, so it would be the right side of the trunk. do u know of a good place? and i have another problem, whenever i turn off the radio, my subs vibrate REALLY LOUD, but when i open the trunk they stop. do you know what the problem could be? thanx

Yes, and yes, and yes.
Ok, you need to reground, I believe mine is grounded to the sidewall, but I can check.
The subs are picking up signal from your power lines, when the trunk is open, the signal can get out, when it is closed, it is amplified by your amp and put into the subs. Here's what I did to mine to fix that, I now have a switch that is under the front dash as low as it could go and still be on the beige part of the dash. It is all the way down, where you would put under dash lighting. This switch turns on and off the power to my amp, therefor when I get out of my car, I just turn off them amp.. and the subs stay off. Now my subs are able to be turned on and off, something none of my other friends have the capability to do. And you'll find this useful because there are some songs, that even when your bass is turned all the way down, is still toooo much bass and you just want to turn them off.
So to your questions, Install a switch in the power line from your battery to your amp.
And either get a longer ground wire... or ground it to the wall of the other side.
Another tip, you will probably want to bolt down your Subs, because even though mine are on the carpet, the carpet actually moves. So either bolt them down, or use velcro. (mine are bolted)

I heard that they can put in some sort of capacitor to absorb the bass energy so you don't get the loud thunking sound. I would ask a professional installer or Fosgate about this problem.
