Default Thoughts on this car?

http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/4891616795.html

Thoughts? I won't be posting a thread for each car I see haha Sorry. Should I offer 3k? Apparently 1998's have less hp than 1999's

It looks pretty clean. One owner, so that's good. He has performed a lot of service that you otherwise would have had to do at an additional cost. It is a 1998 (17 year old car) but it has relatively low miles. I would go for it unless there seems to be something majorly wrong with it. I would probably try to get it for 3K. He might be hard to negotiate with because he is the original owner, but you never know.

Good Luck!

Looks to be in pretty good shape and the up to date maintenance definitely pays off. I think its already a very fair deal! Let us know how it goes!

Looks good to me. These cars only get 28 mpg on the highway. That seems slightly suspicious. I'd also check for oil leaks, especially the right (rear) valve cover gasket. But my initial reading that it's a good value.

Even more suspicious that the listing just changed to 28 mpg...

But overall seems like a good car with decent mileage. Just check the engine for leaks as stated, check the trans fluid, listen for clunks or noise while driving too.
