New struts = New car!
Just changed out my tired and worn OEM struts on my '00 ES 300 with 166k miles with some KYB struts and strut mounts. Despite all the negativity I've heard on here about KYB, I really love the way my car rides now. YES, it definitely has a firmer ride, but I really don't mind it at all. It still has that smooth Lexus feel with a slightly harsher ride over bumps, probably more akin to an Accord or Camry. It doesn't really nose dive like it used to under braking. For the price though (just about $500), it's well worth it to me. Sure, I'd love to put all OEM suspension hardware in my car, but for a 14 year old car that's worth less than $4k, this works for me! This job took about 5 hours to do with my mechanic savvy brother and I (him doing 80% of the work lol). The rear struts definitely take two sets of hands... I don't know how one person could do it alone. A big thank you to Mr. Booby for his great write up on here and some advice on removing the rear seat https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=672129
