Door lock mechanism fell into door

Door lock mechanism fell into door
Hey all.
The locking mechanism on our 96 ES300 fell into the door chamber. I recently fixed the small plastic piece that hold the rod into place but apparently I didn't fasten it well enough and after a few months the whole thing just sort of fell in.
Well now I can't open the door from inside or out. I think I can fix it if I can get the panel off but how does one go about doing that if it won't open from inside or out.
Surely someone has had to do this before. Any help appreciated. Hoping to get it done tomorrow.
