ES300 trunk light
Just in case there is anybody still out there that is living with the tiny stock trunk light and doesn't want to re-wire the trunk adding lights.
This pic was taken in a pitch black garage with no flash on a fairly crappy cell phone camera.
its a 36 surface mount LED panel with the 194 bulb adapter in the stock housing with the stock lens cover.
total cost: $3 took about 3 minutes.

Can you elaborate more on this? Do you have any part #'s or a write-up you could do? My trunk light is dead in my '00 ES 300. I removed the strange looking bulb and bought it to my local auto parts store, but they had nothing even close. I was looking for an alternative to driving out to the Lexus stealership.

It depends on your ES generation and how / where you want the leds mounted. My 1994 used a 194 bulb, so I was able to use a modified (had to shorten it) 194 plug adapter, along with an led board and some hot glue for mounting. It makes a big difference in lighting and has been working fine since 2010. I'm considering adding an additional led board to the underside of the speaker deck since the current light is easily obstructed when stuff is in the trunk. I found that 4000 - 5000k color temp worked best for a nice bright white rather than the 6000k bluish leds.
