Default Trunk light mod

I was working on the car today, changing winter mode to summer mode. Snapped a few pics of this mod, one of those things once you do it to one car you'll do it to all your cars...

Trunk lighting LED strip, I had left over from my WRX but you can buy these strips anywhere, using 3 of them chained together they are adhesive. Unfortunately my WRX trunk light 194 bulb adapter didn't fit the Lexus, which is the tube type, no matter I just pinched the wires in in on each side of the bulb.

droid phone doesn't capture the light the same as a real camera but it is nice at night lights up the whole trunk.

nice..but change that halogen bulb too. its no use compare to LED. Mine strip is only 5-6" and its bright enough so i can imagine yours would be crazy. Is it pure white or like a bluish hue to it.

meh trunk light is plenty bright, no need to change the bulb can't see it. Color is like a bright white maybe bluish not really sure but it does the job. Not crazy bright, I'll take a pic with the real camera.

Its funny I feel like I don't want a bunch of LEDs on this car, like I have to keep the mods "period correct" circa 2001 haha

I can see where you're coming from.

But I kept getting told by others 'wow is that a new lexus' [circa 06-07] at various gas stations, parking lots. So... I made the leap and told myself i'm bringing the mother****er into the new-age with updated lighting, etc.

Night pics for your viewing pleasure

5ltrbeater, I just pushed the stripped wire ends in on either side of the trunk bulb, it is the glass tube type. The wiring can be pushed up through the back of the light fixture so it doesn't interfere with the stock light.
