Default Programming New Master Key for 2001 ES300

I just bought a new master key with remote for subject car (2001 ES300) and have been searching for a definitive way to program this key. I still have my original master key with remote.

I found several threads, but none specific for this car. I need to program the remote buttons as well. I still have my original original working master key with remote.

Can someone that has done this before please refer me to the programming instruction for this specific model?

Thanks.

Phillip

This thread should work, even though it says 2002: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/es3...mobilizer.html

Thanks Hypervish.

I received the master remote key today and was hoping to program it, but was sent the wrong key (it was not cut properly). Should receive another key on Monday. I'll try and program it than.

Thanks again,

Phil

Well, I received the 2nd cut master key, but it was still not cut properly by the Lexus dealer. So now there is a 3rd master key on its way. Not sure what the problem is since the Lexus dealer has my VIN number.

Hope the 3rd master key will work. The Lexus dealer let me keep the 2 defectively cut remote master keys. Is there anything that I can do with the remote part. Can they be programmed independently strictly as remotes without the key blade somehow?

Phil

Yes! That's actually great news that they let you keep them.

The blade piece is just a part of the case. You can buy a new shell for $5 and have it cut and then just transplant the internals. And then program it to your car.

If you don't want that many keys, then you can make a ton of money by selling them. Just get a new key shell, swap the internals and stick it on ebay for $150.

Thanks Hypervish,

I may just do that. I sure don't need that many remote master keys.

I'm just hoping that the new key that's on it's way will work. If not, and if the Lexus dealer didn't have enough of the situation yet, than as a last resort I'll ask him to send me an un-cut remote master key, and I'll have it cut locally.

I received the 3rd cut remote master key from the Online Lexus dealer (seawell
Lexus), and this one does work. They claim that there was something wrong with their key cutting equipment, either way, they resolved the problem, and where very gracious about it.

I just finished programing the new key as per instructions that I found on this site :

http://www.keymam.com/ru/news_view.asp?newsid=58

All is well.
