Default rack && pinion

Does anyone know wat is the going rate to replace/fix a rack && pinion on my 98 es300?? Not sure if my car is worth spending money on it considering it has a salvaged title. I jus flushed brake fluid because it had 200 copper ppm in da lines. Changed ac, ps, and alt belt. And replaced dog bone mount. Lmk thanks.....

Not sure if it's worth it...I just replaced mine on my 2000 ES300 and it took two people almost 6 hours to swap out the entire rack. I got a rebuilt rack from rock auto which cost around 200 after the core is returned. You will get raped on labor - you have to remove the steering column from the inside to remove the rack and its a real pain if you're doing it yourself. If you know someone that is mechanically inclined, I'm sure they would help you. Good luck.

I needed a rack and pinion about 4 months ago and got a refurbished camry rack and pinion put in for $600 out the door and that included a 4 wheel allignment. but then that still didnt solve my problems i also needed tires but after that i spent $950 and got a new rack and pinion 4 new tires and a 4 wheel allignment.

If your not sure your car is worth it being salvage title well thats up to you since you already did all that work there's not much more to be done and you will have a swag lexus but if your done with it get a civic these cars are reliable but aren't the cheapest to fix.

p.s. my car has 240k miles.
