No Sound from Speakers
Hello all,
I was driving home this morning playing some music when it started to cut out to silence. I was playing it out of my Ipod plugged into my Monster car cassette plug in. I ejected the tape a few times then popped it back in same thing would play then stop. So I ejected the tape again turned off the sound system and turned it back on to CD, FM, AM all nothing no sound at all CD changer moves to next CD but no sound from ****. Mind you all buttons and ***** work fine just seems to not be connected to anything.
Has this happened to anyone before?? any thoughts on fixes or places to take it and price?
Thanks!!!

There is a selft diagnosis procedure that tests all of the audio components, and displays an error code on the radio if a fault is found. I don't have access to the info right now, but Maybe someone in the know can chime in and outline the procedure.
From what I vaguely remember it involved turning the key to the ACC position and while the radio is OFF you press the CD button 3 times and than the 1 and 6 of the presets simultaneously. Any error codes will than appear on the screen. Pressing the track up and down button will scan through the codes. Pressing preset 5 will erase the error code, but as I said, I am going by memory, so maybe someone has the exact procedure, together with the meaning of the error codes.

This probably won't be helpful, but I did have this happen to me about 5-6 years ago. To this day I don't know what happened, but I dug in and took off the connections to the amp. It didn't reactivate sound. However, as I went back and started researching how best to redo the stereo (what new components to purchase), I re-performed the procedure of checking and unplugging/plugging the components and it started working again.
Up to now, years later I've never had that issue again.

Thanks for all the responses guys but the issue is resolved!
Strangest thing, I plugged back in my ipod and played around with starting and stopping songs then i started to faintly hear musi i adjusted the **** back and fourth and then it came back! I unplugged the Ipod then was able to play radio and CD's fine again. I have no clue what happened but I now feel scared to use my ipod, zune, or iphone in my car now as this issue started from one.

I have an issue when i use my iPhone too. The pass side speakers sounds awesome but for some reason the drivers side is very faint. This is only when I have the iPhone plugged in with the Monster tape adapter. Could it be a setting on my phone?
