Default Strange Smells

Anyone notice any smells when they drive? engine smells of any kind? when I drive I smell stuff all the time, but I think it's other cards on the road and my nose is just sensitive. I don't know but it freaks me out sometimes.

Yours might not have a cabin filter. A lot of people here have stated that their ES did not come with a cabin filter. One is available and it will make a noticeable difference.

might be oil seeping out of the valve cover gasket(s) onto the exhaust manifold[s] and/or down pipe

I have that happening on mine right now. I am getting both valve cover gaskets replaced in a couple of days. My mechanic is only charging me $125 plus parts. I know I can do it myself, but he will warrant his work for 1 year.

I can't remember where I read it but in my understanding they were ready for a filter 97' and up but didn't come from the factory w an actual filter element until 99' or 00'.

My filter access was filled with so much rotten **** that I had to leave it on recirc until I vaccuumed and lysoled it. I got a carbon filter for one of the two elements and its good as new (actually 2 filters for the cabin).
I poured a diluted bleach solution down the front air intakes as well and hosed it for a few minutes. Made a world of difference.
