2002 ES300 moonroof problem
Recently when I try to close my moonroof, the roof will overshoot and leave it ajar. There is also a loud clicking sound when I open the roof all the way. Does anyone else have this problem? How can I fix it?
Thanks

I had a similar issue for my 2002 ES300 and I fixed it. I had searched the forum and I was confused by what I found here and also in the manual. Symptoms: Loud clicking heard at the limits of both ends of the movement (fully open, fully closed). No auto-function. Here's what I did:
- Ignition ON
- Currently sunroof should be in the normally closed position (level with the roof)
- Press the TILT UP button and keep it pressed. It should tilt open and then turn off by itself. Note that loud Clicking sound may be heard fora few clicks. It should stop after a few clicks and the motor should turn off.
- That is all. It should work normally now.
You can long press the button for 1 second and it should now work on all 3 positions: Fully open, fully closed, and fully opened+tilt up. There should be no clicking sound at any time and the motor will stop at the end of its travel automatically.

My '98 had that same problem happen to me too. The Tilt button press trick reset worked.
