HI,
I have a Sunroof problem with 1997 es300, it is stuck open in the tilt position.

i checked the fuse and it is good.

Please help me to close it.

Any more information you can provide? Did this just happen or has it had a history of doing this or have you noticed it being slower to close/open than usual? When pressing the switch can you hear anything from the motor? Does it sound like anything is actually happening from the motor like it wants to close but won't? Have you done any other work to the car lately (battery or any electrical)? Any other components in the car having trouble?

Also how handy are you? This isn't the most complex system to work on but its a little bit of a pain to test. A digital multimeter would allow you to test the system more properly to see where your issue is. The system is limited to a few problem areas: Relays (I believe theres 3 in the circuit but only one specifically to sliding roof), fuse, sliding roof switch, motor, and wiring harness. However with the limited information provided I would guess motor or relay might have worn out and gotten stuck in one position.

Thank you for replying.

i didnt use the sunroof for more than 2 years. i was cleaning my car and accidently i pressed the sunroof button and it opened all the way to the back and to close it i clicked it once again than it went to the tilt position. i could not close it after that. when i pressed the button i can hear only a clicking sound.


i have opened the console where the sunroof switch is there and i can see 3 screw whcih i tried removing them and closing the sunroof, but it didnt work.

i repairing is very complex i want to just close. Please let me know how to do it.
