'93 Lexus ES300 Transmission Maintenance
I spoke to the Tech at a popular quicky oil change place near my home about my transmission. When I asked for the price of a "Drain and Fill", he told me that a Lexus needs to be flushed not just drained. He said that the car needs to be running, and something about the gears.
I'm second guessing myself now because I thought I've always read that we should never "flush" our trannys. Just a few rounds of drains and fills would do. Which one of us is right?
My tranny kicks kinda hard when it shifts into gear. It only does it when I accelerate from a dead stop. After that she's smooth as a whistle. I am trying to figure out if this is due to poor maintenace on the previous owners part, or if I should be saving for a new tranny!!
