Shifter ****

Hey Everyone,
I'm looking to replace the shifter **** on my '97 ES as the leather is very worn.

How do I remove it, or do I have to replace the whole shifter assembly?

thanks. i will need to do this in the future, as the seams holding the leather is starting to rip.
