Default motor dies when getting out of freeway???

I need help on my 92 ES300. The engine will die very often when getting out from freeway, or sudden stop. Restart the car, then OK. Sometime I did not notice until I tried to hit the gas pandel. Any sugestion will be appreciated.

I had the same problem... make sure your engine mounts are not worn and causing a split in the air intake inlet.
The engine mounts on mine wore down so bad the engne moved alot in the engine bay causing theair intake to split .. then when i pulled away for sudden stop the engine would cut out

....I think you hit the nail on the head there Steve ! I have a Toyota Truck SR5 w/a 3.0 V6 and when the rubber started splitting around those rather large clamps that make a good seal, the engine tried to die BOTH when accelerating from a stop and in sudden braking. Walter, you might want to check into making sure that your seal going between the air filter and injector intake plenum is free of air leaks. Also, I am not sure if the ES300 has any oxygen sensors but if they do, you may want to check those as well. How long has it been since your car had a tune-up? Also, check your idle speed......could it be too low as compared to factory spec's?

Just my 2 pennies worth!

Scott.

I experienced the problem again...

I have not replaced the air intake inlet yet.. just taped it for the time being. I have also got to replace the bottom engine mount too (hoefully do both together)

I was driving back from London and had to break real heavy and i could feel the engine dying... but when i removed my foot of the brake everything was ok.
