Does anyone know a safe and effective way to remove the emblems off of an ES? My car has the gold package and I really don't care for how it looks. Anything I can think of might cause damage to the finish... Any help would be appreciated. Ramsee1

I have a 2001 - if you have other than a 2001, the following might not apply.
I safely removed the "Lexus" and "ES 300" emblems off my rear tail lights using dental floss as they are just stuck on with adhesive. However, the front and rear circle-L emblems have alignment holes in the sheet metal behind them - if you remove these, you'll need to have the holes plugged.
If it's cool outside, you'll need to warm the emblems slightly with a blow dryer on low setting - don't get them too hot or you'll mess up the plastic tail light lenses! After removing the emblems, you can gently rub the pieces of adhesive that are left behind with your fingers until most of it ***** up and comes off. Then use a quality wax to finish it off. Don't use bug remover/lighter fluid/acetone/!!!
This procedure is different than others about which I've read but it worked for me!
Also, the "Lexus" emblem will break very easily - I found out the hard way... Yours is gold, therefore more valuable!

alignment holes
Well that just makes me angry!
Thank you for the info though! I am just trying to make a cleaner look for my ride... but not at the expense of filling, sanding and painting.... Me so furious.

What I didn't mention was the way I actually found out about the alignment holes behind those circle-L emblems... I removed the rear circle-L emblem and discovered the holes that way... Imagine my surprise!
Although I couldn't remove the circle-L emblems, the car looks much cleaner from behind without the "Lexus" and the "ES300" emblems (see below). Kind of reminds me of some of the big Bimmers and MBs I saw on the autobahn in Germany. A lot of them had no emblems at all and they looked great. Anyway, I was informed that if I couldn't tell what it was just by looking at it, I had no business looking at it in the first place
See, now people can tell I have a Lexus but they don't know what model. They ask me: "What kind of Lexus is that?" I tell them I had to choose between it and food.
