firestone Broke my engine pan
I usually change my own oil .. but since i let my friend borrow my Lexus.. he went to firestone to get it change.. those stupid cows don:t even know how to unplug the drain plug, the drain plug i have is the one where it hangs and it wasn:t suppost to be taken out. just hangs there and the oil would come straight out.. they pull the whole thing off and now there:s a pieace inside the oil pan and they said that it:ll cost me 300bucks to get the oil pan off and get that pieace out... what kinda crap is that?? i:m taking them to court.. but i would like you guys to tell me if the plug is OEM or not.. here:s a picture of it.. any other common on who:s fualt it is would be great also..
they said that since it's an aftermarket plug and that we should of told them before they do it, so it ain't their fualt. ... but what kind of machanic dont know stuff like this???

That is not an OEM part AFAIK.
You should sue them, and if it comes down to it, I would be happy to take pictures inside the oil pan & you can get pictures of the '93 ES FSM of the exploded drawings in it & take them as well.

I cant believe those idiots! Unless the work order specifically mentioned that you must disclose any aftermarket parts installed on your vehicle before service, they can be sued.
Good luck!

the plug have another part to it that is inside the oil pan and it suppost to connect to that little metal you see on the plug. they pull the thing off, now that small part is inside the oil pan....
from talking to my auto guy. he said the small part won't damage the car because there's a screen inside the oil pan and it would keep it from going up into the engine. is that true?. do we have an oil screen?.. but if so. i would have him to take the pan off and check it anyways. so i can SUE!!!..
i know if i sue, they would postpone it for god knows how many times but i tired of these bastards scamming people... i mean, who would go in for an oil change then find out you can't drive your car anymore and it'll cost you 300 bucks to repair it??..
