Thanks, I was wandering about as to, when to change, I only drive 400 to 500 miles per month. How do you know when to change?

It all depends on where you live. Cabin air filters block dust, smoke, and pollen so it really depends on where you live. I believe the suggested change time is 30,000 miles or 36 months, but I might be remembering the engine air filter I believe someone mentioned 10,000 miles earlier in this thread.

As to when you should change, I guess you could always just visually inspect your filter. Or if you notice a difference in airflow from the heating vents it's probably safe to assume you might need to change your filter.

An aftermarket filter is about $12.00 This is one area where I really don't think it pays to get original equipment.
