ES330 A/C filter change w/pics - other yrs may apply

Hello everyone, and to fellow dads 'Happy Father's Day'. :)
For my old man, I worked on detailing his car for 5+ hours, the whole interior and exterior bit. The last thing I did was change his a/c filter and for those who haven't seen it, this might be helpful. Perform steps 1-6, and the last step is to put everything back together in the order you took them out. |

Step #6. After this, just put everything back together reversing the steps.
By the way, purchased the filter from www.irontoad.com. |
wow, that was an absolutely superb writeup. Thanks for the time and effort!

I agree that this is a very informative how-to writeup. I will link to this thread from the ES330/300 DIY stickied thread if you don't mind :)

This is the same for a 2000 correct? Is this the filter you purchased http://www.irontoad.com/Merchant2/me...Store_Code=TSC I found it in Toyota general accessories. There wasn't any for Lexus ES300.

Seriously Doug? That one won't work for me? That stinks! Lexus one is like $30 more??

That is an excellent writeup for a component that is often overlooked. Thank you for your contribution!

Thanks for the compliments everyone.

as clearly the best lexus enthusiast stie. superpats, For the 2000 ES300 (same as a 1999 ES300), a cabin filter can be found on www.rockauto.com. I purchased two from there ($25 bucks each I think). It is manufactured by Wix, part #24895. Another route is ebay where I picked up the Toyota one for $27. I got lots of filters now. :p For your 2000, it is a little bit harder to install. I recommend warmup stretching exercises :woot: before attempting to install because it involves kneeling down near the driver pedal. If you are out of shape, you could pull a muscle. Also, because my car didn't come with a filter installed (Lexus, what were you thinking?), I had to figure out the correct orientation for the two pieces. Lastly, I think there is a writeup somehere on this board that tells you how to do it. If not, or it's unclear, I will put together a writeup if desired, as I plan to check what it looks like after 10K. |
Milton thanks for the info.
