Default 2013 ES300h or 2014 ES300h?

We're ready to make a purchase now, and we're lucky enough to have two options.

2014 ES300h with 30K miles or 2013 ES300h with 24K miles. Same price, from reputable Lexus dealership, both CPO. The 2014 warranty until 8/2020 while 2013 warranty until 3/2019.

Does the 17 months extended warranty worth the 6K miles?

I think I would go with the 2014 with the 6K miles. 2013 was the first year for the300h and even though I don't remember any significant problems at all a second-year car would usually be a better choice in my opinion.

To me, the mileage is not enough to sway one way or the other. Since they are the same price, are there differences in the options on either car? I purchased my 2013 ES300h new and have had no issues at all. If all is equal as far as installed options, I'd go with the 2014.

I agree. the difference between 24,000 miles and 30,000 miles is insignificant. I would be paying more attention to differences in the condition of the vehicles and how they are equipped. If all else was equal, the 2014 would be an easy choice. On the other hand, if the 2013 was equipped to a significantly higher level or if it was cosmetically in better shape, I wouldn't hesitate to choose it.

The younger car (2014) has more trade-in value, clearly swamping an extra 6K miles. Otherwise, pick the one that you like the color of or seems to appear the least worn for wear.

Given the same equipment, I'd recommend the 2014 as well. Granted if you like the color/appearance of the 2013 better then get that one.
