blue tooth issue
Okay guys, need your insights... let me start at the beginning saying I'm not a very tech savy person... anyway when I bought my es in January, tech guy at the dealership takes my old motorola z9 cell phone and set it up so i can use the phone thru the car.. no issues til today.. all of a sudden I keep seeing phone connected, phone disconnected... tried to make several call, and kept getting a "phone disconnected" message... just happened to be near the dealership and stopped to ask the tech guy to take a look... he can't get it to work either... well, he actually got it to work, but you couldn't tell it to "call" anyone... you could tell it to dial a number, but for some reason the "call" voice recognition wouldnt work... anyway, he takes his phone and connects it to my car and for the few minutes we were in the car it seemed to work... I know my moto Z 9 is ancient, but I just can't figure out why the call feature worked all this time then just quit, while allowing the other phone features to continue to work... just wanted to see what you guys think before I run out and buy another cell phone... btw, I have in the past had issues with my old z9... there have been times when I would turn it on and it would tell me to insert a sim card ( which was already in there ).. I would have to turn it off, bounce it off a table a couple of times and viola, it would work again... so there is my full disclosure...

I assume they tried to repaire the phone from scratch and you still had issues?
Go into setup/phone/bluetooth and delete the phone then start the process to repair it again.
You should do the same on the phone side.
If that doesn't do it a new phone may be in order since you are having those other issues with it.
Good luck

an update.... I head over to the at&t store today to buy another phone...just want a basic phone, no data plans... just a phone... I get this young super smart salesman who has helped me with issues in the past... when I tell him that I can't "tell the car" to make a phone call anymore he goes out to the car to look into it... 10 minutes later I'm back on the road still using the old motorola... turns out the tech guy at Lexus was wrong.. it wasn't my phone.. instead for some unknown reason, the computer on my es lost all of my contacts... no contacts = not being able to tell it to call anyone.... once we put the contacts back in, worked like a charm.... all's well that ends well...

Yep, happened a couple times on my 2010 ES, hasn't on the GS yet. For some reason it just dumps everything.

Blue Tooth Help Needed
Hi all, I got a 2009 RX350 last Friday. Saturday the dealership showed me how to pair the phone to the car for hands free capability. Worked great. Monday the battery in the car had to be changed and lost all my settings (seats/windows/sun roof) AND we couldn't get the blue tooth to work. As a matter of fact the BT symbol on one screen has a red line through it and on another screen the "connect" and "connect automatically" area is grayed out which wasn't before. Lexus doesn't know what's going on, the dealership doesn't either or the Merc/Audi shop that changed the battery. Can anyone shed some light as to what the possible problem is? I sure could use some insights. Yes, the BT in my phone is on

@Arty101, I also noticed yesterday as I was driving home from the office, that my system did not recognize the names of my contacts. Very interesting!
Everything is back to normal today.

The computer doesn't recognize some names even when they ARE in there. I get "pardon"?
