Default Powertrain stutter in 300H ?

My 2013 300H now is 1 year old and has 13,000 miles on it and in recent months I'm getting a strange anomaly.

On occasion when accelerating away from a stop sign at about 2500 RPM the car goes into a chugging or stuttering powertrain vibration. This happens in gas engine mode, not traction battery mode. It continues to vibrate until I take my foot off the gas and the chugging/vibration action stops and the car then operates normally. This action has no special sound with it just the feeling you are driving over a washboard.

The car is driven daily and it only happens once every week or so and the dealer has not been able to replicate the experience. They did check the rear suspension and said all was OK.

Have had this happen in both Eco and Normal mode. I used to drive in Eco mode but found average MPG just about the same in Normal mode. Getting 42.8 in Florida local driving

Anybody experience this or have an idea what might be happening?

Are you sure it's not the traction motor since this is about the rpm range that the ICE and traction motor kick on or off. Just a thought.

Thanks Arty for the thought . My suspicion is that it may well be involved in the changeover between the between the traction motor and the ICE. May be hard for the tech to replicate since it is infrequent but I'll ask them to check again next time I'm in and at least have it on the record in case it gets worse.

There's a slight shutter when either the ICE kicks on or off between the traction motor, so maybe that's what you're feeling. I noticed it somewhat in the beginning, but not much anymore.
