Default removing scratches from cup holder cover

Any ideas on how to remove minor scratches from the cup holder cover and other plastic areas around the shift lever. On my ES350 I have the parchment interior with black plastic (looks like plastic) between the two front seats.

Thanks

I think your SOL.

Not much you can do with that. You're liable to add more scratches trying to get the old
ones out.

You could try some swirl remover or plain wax. Just don't go overboard on rubbing pressure.
Buff with a microfiber towel.

Other wax experts on here that might have ideas.

P.S. they should fire the idiot that picked that finish.

How did you scratch it?

You could always go this route: LINK

I was vacuuming the inside and lightly touched the plastic surface with the vacuum plastic end attachment. Running your finger nail over the scratch you cannot feel the scratch so it can't be very deep.

What's interesting is if you look a Sewell's page, you can find the cup holder in wood trims (55604D). You can replace both black plastic pieces with wood, too (58804A). LINK

Kind of pricey, though.

I knew this would eventually become a problem so this is what I did. Individual pieces can be had at www.carid.com

If you can test any area, Novus #2 fine scratch remover is made for plastic. It's usually available at Harley stores. I think it is best known for windscreen issues. I believe there is also a #3, more abrasive, and then #1 is a polish. I used 2 & 1 on a plastic dash issue, and the results were good but go slow, apply multiple times and see what it's doing rather than aggressive pressure on the rag.
