Should Lexus offer an ES F SPORT model?
Would you consider buying an ES F SPORT model? How about a touring or sport appearance model? You can vote for multiple choices!

Toyota has an "SE" model for the Camry with stiffer springs, tighter shocks, and wider tires. The reviews have almost universally been bad for this combination. The softly sprung, quiet, smooth, luxury character of the ES just doesn't lend itself to sportier. If you want sporty, there is already the IS or GS with F Sport versions.
What I would really like to see is a different drivetrain for the UL. Something like the GS350 engine at over 300 hp and an 8 speed auto like in the RX350 F Sport.

An ES F Sport model would be interesting but I wonder how many of them Lexus would actually sell? When you consider the demographics of the average new ES buyer it seems like it would be very few.
On the other hand, it wouldn't cost much to put one out so the financial risk to the Lexus division would be pretty low.
Some kind of a touring edition might make more sense and add a little more interest to the ES..

No, I dont see the point. This not a sports sedan. The ES is a fantastic front wheel drive, luxury car. There is no reason to try and deviate from the original recipe. Save the sport trims for the rear wheel drive models (RX F Sport seems crazy to me as well).

Not on your life The Lexus F desington has been watered down enough IMHO. To have a front wheel drive vehicle with an F designation adds further to that dilution. It would be like the Camry SE model. A purported sports Toyota with nothing more than larger wheels and stick on ground effects.. Again NO!

There is already a front wheel drive F-sport model.
I would wait and see what direction the next IS will go in. If it becomes a serious BMW 3-series competitor it will be a very sporty drive. This leaves room for the ES in Europe. If Lexus Europe is willing to change their model strategy. Maybe a sportier version of the ES will also find a market there. A lot of people like the agressive F-sport looks but not the "sportier" drive. Some people in Europe, when they buy a more expensive version of a model, want to flaunt it. And the F-sport does just that.

why the heck would anyone buy an F Sport ES when a non F Sport GS350 would be far better. If you are shopping for a big comfy car like what the ES is suppose to be, why are you concerned with being sporty. That is what the IS/GS is for. Each car has a clear identity now. Dont try to mix them, it wont work.

Well you got the CT in F-sport to my eyes is much better looking ( especially here in Canada ) than a normal CT, and no it's not about driving faster or anything just look better but on a ES I don't really see the point also.
