Door locks
I have a 2010 ES350. All 3 passenger doors will not unlock with the key fob. They will lock but not unlock. There are new batteries in both fobs and the mechanic replaced the door mechanism on the right passenger side. Still nothing works. Now they want to replace the body control modulator but there is no guarantee this is the problem either. Is there any way to test the modulator to see if it's bad? Could it be a bad fuse? Help please. Thank you

er you need to press the unlock button twice to unlock the passenger doors. see page 16 of the user manual highlighted. btw u can change these settings and that is also explained in the manual.

What happens if you grab one of the passenger doors?

The driver door will unlock but we have been holding down the open button to roll down the windows so I can reach in and unlock the passenger side so my husband doesn't have to keep leaning over to unlock the door or reaching in back to unlock the rear doors. It's a pain.

No, the LOCK/UNLOCK button on the inside of the car on the driver's door only LOCKS and UNLOCKS the driver's door. But the key fob LOCKS all doors but only UNLOCKS the driver's door. Weird.

The fact that all doors can be locked or unlocked in some fashion indicate this is not an issue with the lock actuators or a simple fuse issue. It does indeed sound like there's something wrong with the control board itself.

Well, all the passenger doors can only be unlocked by doing it manually. They will lock with the fob but the only way to unlock the passenger doors(all 3) is with your hands. My mechanic wants to see if it's the body control module but it's $700 with 3 hours labor and if that's not the problem we're out over $1000.00. Is there a way to test the control board before we replace it to make sure this is indeed the problem?

you know the front passenger door switch is also supposed to open all 4 door, just like the front driver side door switch. l I have the detailed service manual door lock info which I can link you to which has all sorts of testing parameters/symptom tables etc etc. But its not for the faint of heart

nevernu: THANK YOU!! We will look it over.
Yeah, driver door and front passenger door switch does not unlock doors. The driver door switch only unlocks itself and the passenger door switch unlocks the drivers door but not itself. Key fob only unlocks driver door but LOCKS ALL doors.
