Re-Programming the new keys
Greetings,
Today, we got break-in while at work. They took the safe which I put a spare key of my Lexus 2011 ES 350 in it. Now, I would like to re-program so that key is no longer valid.
Is there a way to do so? Could Lexus dealer be able to re-program it?
We are going through pain with this break-in and now have to deal with the car. Your support is much appreciated.
Thanks
John

Thank you,
I got to the Lexus dealer and they do have 2 options:
1. Re-flash the keys so only new keys will turn on the car engine. It costs around $150. However, with the old key, thief can still use the physical key to open the car but NOT able to turn on the engine.
2. Replace all three locks (driver door lock, compartment lock and trunk lock). This option is considered safe but it costs about $1200.
I selected option #1 since it costs less. Of course, the car is insured.
Thanks all for your responses.
