Real Wood Grain Kit for your ES?
Hey guys, new to the forum but not to a lexus. My mom has a lexus gx470 for about 7 years now and I just received a 2008 ES350 as a early graduation present!
Anyways, I was looking at google for any mods for this car and stumbled upon this website
http://www.carid.com/2008-lexus-es-w...ain-dash-kits/
which gives you options of making any car more luxurious by adding real wood grain to the front panel of the car. I was wondering if any of you guys looked into this and if so, what were your thoughts about it?

IMO, I think that liberal use of a good quality dash kit to finish off the center stack and maybe the overhead pod etc. might look good. I would caution on placing the add-on pieces to a large number of areas that don't look like natural OEM locations. Post some pic's once you are done.

I bought and installed wood grain on my 2007 Es 350 because the original wood grain seemed inadequate. I am very pleased with the result and it was relatively easy to install. If you do make sure you use a sunshade as often as possible to prevent fading of the top uppermost (arched) piece.

Can anyone suggest a quality brand? I want to compare a good DIY versus what a Lexus dealer might charge to determine if the install fees are worth the warranty that would come with a Lexus install.
Thanks!
Thanks!

It seems, from the picture, that the woodgrain that runs on the sides of the radio is slightly off color to the center section. Or is it just the angle taken from the camera?

Go ask the Lexus dealer who they get the kit from. It is not a specific Lexus part number. They usually check out and source an aftermarket kit that matches their wood.
