Door Bottom Trim
#16
So, i've ordered a set from CarID since it is make from stainless steel with a triple coated chrome VS the one from RonUSA, which is only stainless steel highly polish to a chrome finish. Price wise, the RonUSA is cheaper, but CarID offer a 10% discount if you ask for it since they have to beat all the competitive price.
I will receive it within the next 10 days, so i can let your folks know.

As promise, here is what the lower chrome trims from CarID looks like:
The fitting is near perfect. The chrome more shinny than the rest of the car. The 3M tape is very sticky and will last for a long time IMO.
The package will come to your house with some extremely hard carboard to prevent any bending. Each trim is protected by 2 cover tapes to immune the chrome finish.
When ordering, let them know about the 10% discount, plus, you will have another 10% off after buying an article from them.
Installation: pretty quick and the fitting is very tight. DO NOT PUSH HARD on the chrome finish since it could make wave. You can use tape to guide the fitting. The trim will curve a little bit since the door is not perfectly flush.

I installed the trim and found it pretty easy to do on my 2008. The trim showed up with out any instructions, so I simply peeled and stuck each labeled piece to it's proper spot. It fits very well and is easy to align with the door bottom moulding.
My only complaint is that the trim does look a little wavy, even if you are careful not to push too hard when installing. I think it's just because the material is so thin. In contrast, the factory chrome trim arounf the windows is dead straight with image perfect reflection. Still, it adds a nice note of elegance to the car and is much cheaper than the factory option. Just don't look too close or expect perfection.
On the other hand, the rear spoiler, whih I also got from CarID, was a perfect paint match and installed quite easily with good instructions. Highly recommended for those who like the ES with a spoiler, which is not everyone.
I've attached a photo showing both.
