Rattling Noise from Moonroof
2007 ES 350
I have a rattling noise coming from the moonroof. It seems more prevalent when the temperaturte outside is cold. When the outside temperature is above 50 degrees, the rattle is less noticeable. The dealer said there was a service bulletin on this. They tried to fix it but the rattle is still there.
Has anyone had this problem with there 2007 ES 350?

Is it the sunroof glass itself, or is it coming from inside the headliner? Is it more of a rattle or a tick?
There is a TSIB for the tire inflation monitor that is located under the headliner. It rattles and needs to be replaced.
If it is a tick, there are several things it could be. All have TSIBs.

Dealer Fixed Mine
I had the same problem with my '07 ES350. I would hear an annoying rattle in the moonroof every time I hit a little bump in the road and it was worst in cold weather. One time my friend was riding with me and he pushed up on the moonroof glass and the rattle went away so we knew it was the moonroof near the front windshield. There is a TSIB on this issue as a matter of fact Lexus has a insulation kit that will fix this problem. The fix involves removing part of the headliner and installing several felt insulation pieces between the moonroof and the metal roof of the car. My dealer knew exactly how to fix it and I haven't heard the rattle since. If your dealer isn't aware of this documented Lexus fix, then I'd try a different dealer. Hope this helps. Good luck.

I had the same problem in my '07 and it took the dealer 2 tries to fix it. The first attempt lessened the issue but didn't eliminate it. No pushback at all from the dealer either time.

Sunroof rattle and horrible fix
My 2007 350es had a rattle in the sunroof.
Lexus of Norwood said there was no rattle.
On our third trip in they heard it and said that there was a service bulletin about and they would fix it.
When I picked up the car two days later, the service rep said it was all set. When I looked at the roof, there were two large protusions on the roof. They said that they had not noticed it, but that it would be fixed. Five days later, we got the car back. They did not give us any info about the car or the repairs. They weren't even sure which of their body shops had it.
When we got it back there was no explanation of what had happened or any apology for the damage they did. Lexus of Norwood had to refinish the roof but they left sanding disk lines in the rear window and the body molding is still sticking up. Appeals to management have gone unanswered. Beware!
The car is great other than that.

Anytime you take any car in to the repair shop, you are at risk for damage. I try to avoid going into the shop at all costs. Sometimes, living with a rattle is better than possible damage. But, on the other hand, I have had some clean repairs at my Lexus dealer.
But, I have to say your story is pretty bad. I would call Lexus customer service and complain.

I have the same problem. I decided to leave that reattling sound alone. It doesnt rattle all the time anyways. I also noticed that if you keep your sunroof open, it wont rattle.

my rattling is coming from the rear windsheild.. then again i got a sub there... so... yea.. ahaha... but i pinpointed it to the top center of the rear windshield. perhaps i shoudl find some PDFs on how to take apart the interior and dynamat the car. Then it would be quieter than the LS... HA!

yes I have the same rattle, sounds like a sharp tapping / squeek sound. Dealer took a look at it and will make sure a specialist is in the next service I do. Its spring now so it barely happens. If i push up on the headliner where the sunglass holder is it stops. I will post on how many tries they take to fix it
