Navigation Dvd Price Drop?
I received a postcard in the mail from Lexus Headquarters that says: "A new map update is now available for your Lexus. Visit your Lexus dealer to get your map update today for only $265(MSRP)."
I'll have to give them a call, because when I went to the parts counter last month they told me that the price was $365. Of course, if Lexus installs this disc there's a service charge, but I'll do it myself, since it's a very simple installation.

Yep, received the same postcard. Yeah, this price is minus any dealer profit.
Bottom line, be careful buying parts at the parts counter. Example, my father banged up his front licence plate bracket. The part was $41 over the counter. I went to the express oil change lane and asked the tech how much it would be to install it. Without him knowing I went to the parts counter, he said he would install it (parts and labor) for $29. Buying over the counter is sometimes more expensive because of dealer markup.

I think you'll find that some are OEM and are not needed by the owner for a variety of reasons....some unopened. I'm sure there is some illegitimate material on Ebay, but I wouldn't immediately discount all of it.
I haven't bought any of these, but would absolutely check it out before turning over $350 for another copy, for the landfill aspects as well as financial. To each his own.....

Be careful.....VERY careful!! I'm an ardent eBayer who confronted another member, and than had to report him for selling bootleged DVD map discs. He was trying to give the impression that he was selling OEM discs. You tell me, how can a person sell a current OEM disc for $60 when the factory MSRP is between $265 to about $300. Give me a break.
P.S. All the ad's from this guy were shut down by eBay!!!

Yes, one should be skeptical of an offer to purchase an OEM nav disc for such a "too good to be true" low price, but to be fair--it is not entirely farfetched to find legitimate brand-new OEM nav discs (not necessarily limited to Lexus) going for less than half MSRP, and used OEM ones going for even less than that. I've purchased "brand-new shrinkwrapped in original case" nav discs for my GM SUV for 30% of (not "off") MSRP (the 30% was a rarity--most GM nav discs on Ebay are offered for around 40-50% of MSRP).

I saw the OEM Lexus DVD, version 7.1 at my dealer and it didn't look anything like the disc you're offering for sale. What's your game??
