Air conditioner Freezer problem...can someone tell me where the freezer is located
Hi Everyone,
My AC stopped cooling and was blowing hot air. First was a leakage which was located just directly beneath the wiper. The technician fixed it then recharged or refill the AC gas. It started cooling and I was happy. To my surprise, just one week after the whole gas go exhausted.
I went back to the technician and they are saying now that there is a serious leakage in the freezer, and I need to change it entirely. According to them the process will require the loosening of the entire dashboard by an electrician. I am scared cos I don't want any further damage in the car.
Is there anything like AC freezer?
Can it be replaced?
Does the process of uninstalling and installing involve loosening the entire dashboard?
Pls someone should help me...I don't want any further damage or carelessness with that car.
Thanks.

Unit inside the car is called the evaporator if that does need to be replaced then the technician is correct, the entire dash needs to be dismantled. I would get a 2nd opinion.

Yes, find another technician. Not heard the word freezer on an automobile! I often fill mine with a parts house can of Freon. Start with a small can then add little at a time. So far it has lasted for several months.
