Default Any tips on changing headlight bulbs?

Just changed both headlight bulbs on our '02 ES300. What a pain! Is there any way to easily remove the entire headlight assembly like I can on our GM cars? Changing bulbs would be a lot easier than having to put my big hands down inside by those sharp metal edges in the engine compartment.

I believe you will have to drop the bumper to remove the assemblies.

correct - the bumper cover at any rate. I had a neighbor with smaller hands do ours (he was fortunately there as I was failing at it). Got a young son around. It is faintly ridiculous how this was so over-complicated.

Hah you guys think changing bulbs on the ES are bad? The GS is even worse!
Technically you're supposed to remove the headlight on the GS, but there's screws that are rusty that we didn't want to touch. Took about 2 hours to figure out one bulb.

Anybody try fitting aftermarket LEDs instead?

Yes, what a pain it was. Drivers side HID D2S bulb went out on my 02 ES300. Replaced it with a like aftermarket D2S. It was over complicated and with no room for average size hands. Glad that is behind me.

I changed the bulbs on my 97 ES300 before. It wasn't that hard. I agree having small hands and patience helped.
