so on and off i've been smelling gas fumes from my car...It comes and go. A mechanic told me it can be the charcoal canister. I can't pass my smog check and i do get a cel that comes on even after i clear it. These are the codes i get. At this point i want to get it to pass smog and get the cel off because i don't want to put any money into the car as it's time to find a new daily. been thinking of a 2010 es350, Rx400h or maybe a is350

Check your vacuum lines first.

had the dealer inspect it and they said to start with 10+ evap hoses...said they look cracked and brittle.

any 19 yr old car has cracked vacuum lines. look at your engine, pull off the bad ones and get some silicon lines to replace them.
