Do the front brake pads have wear indicators?
I was about to check the front pads today and it began to rain. They have about 50K on them.
I have read the rears have indicators but unable to confirm the fronts do.
I will replace the pads with Akebono ACT906. And still deciding on rotor selection:
Centric 120 premium
Centric 125. high carbon
Raybestos Advanced Tech

Depends on the pads and associated hardware.

the wear indicators should be on the inside pads I believe on the top end of the pad.
I installed Akebono pads with the wear indicators on the same position as OEM on my last car, they are good pads, quiet and very low dust, but I think I want something with more bite on this car.
I had powerstop on my last car, but prob just go with plain rotors on this car.
I was thinking of Centric Premium with E-coating or Brembo Blanks, or maybe Power Slots.

The factory pads come with wear indicators. However, I won't rely on them. They do rust out and/or fall off. The best way to check them is to look through the hole on the brake caliper. Have jack stand please!

I agree, brake indicators are useless. You usually get a ton of brake travel before the pad is worn out or your rotors warp/score anyway. Nothing beats a physical brake inspection, along with a good lubricating and cleaning if they've still got a lot of life left in them.

You are correct, best to inspect them.
I pulled the tire and very little pad left. The center cut groove is almost gone on the pad. They looked thin....
Will change the rotors as well - they have already been turned once before and they are pulsing now.

I don't think they are. I just replaced some rear pads the wear indicators were making a terrible racket which prompted the person to do something. The pads were very close to being completely gone the indicators saved the rotors from being trashed.

I bought these pads off Amazon for my '97 ES:
Akebono ACT707 ProACT Ultra-Premium Ceramic Brake Pad Set
And they do not have wear indicators.
They have the added bonus that you can install them brake pad facing away from the rotor.
Don't ask how I know that
