2002 ES 300 PCV Valve Location
Need to change this part, but I cannot find where this thing is for the 2002 model. Any help would be appreciated.

You may want to change the hose at the same time. My hose was so brittle it was not sealing well and I could break it apart with my hands. Considering faulty pcv systems is a major contributer to the "sludge issue" it is worth keeping it in top shape.

Just replaced it. The thing was brittle but i just replaced it with generic exhaust piping. Seems to be good so far

I think 25k intervals for a PCV valve is a bit excessive unless you have a real oil-burner that is clogging/sludging them.
It's a very simple check-valve and you can take it out, clean it, and rattle it and if the check moves freely, it's good. I find on a well-running modern car 100k is reasonable with a single cleaning in there somewhere. I replaced the stock on on our 2002 last year after 12 years/220k miles and it was working perfectly; I was just doing the timing belt and stuck a new one in because it was $2 from RockAuto when I purchased all the other parts.

I'm probably just paranoid about the whole sludge issue as I want this car to last me a while. I certainly don't like the looks of the baffle under my oil cap, it's all crusted up. I don't want to pull the valve covers to check for sludge because they aren't leaking.

2001 and earlier my cars had an issue w/sluding IF driven on short trips and for excessively abusive oil change intervals. If you aren't dong that, you don't have to worry. 2002my and up have a redesigned valve cover to reduce the chances of sludging if abused.
The baffle is always crusty because oil splashes up there in and overheats. It's normal; a trade off of having the baffle for protection and is not indicative of a problem underneath.
So relax and enjoy it!
