No High Beam Indicator - Lights Working
All lights function properly but the dash Hi Beam Indicator light won't come on. I can't get a Safety Certificate without the indicator, so I can't sell this 1996 ES300 which is in beautiful condition. Can't see trashing a car because of a dash light. Really appreciate any advice.

That is a very through safety check. In New York, state inspections are done at authorized service stations and will vary. Some do the bare minimum and others will try to find something amiss that they need to repair before passing.

i checked with Safety Dept and they confirmed car would not pass.
I noticed the High beam indicator bulb is slightly different from the others and does not have 2V marked on it.
Is it a different bulb? Does anyone have a wiring diagram?

For anyone with this problem, I found a blown 5 amp relay fuse near the driver side Headlight. Replaced the fuse and the high beam indicator now works.

I'm having a similar problem with my 2004 ES330, the High-beam indicator is not working also. In addition to that the high-beams themselves do work but are incredibly dim, looking at them during the day you'd hardly notice but I checked them last night and you can't tell a difference when they're turned on or off. I've checked the High-beam fuse's (labeled 7 and 11 in the owners manuel) and they are not blown. Is it possible they are bad but yet not blown??

The fuse I replaced was not part of the regular fuses but had it's own relay box near the headlights. Your issue may be related but the dim headlights suggest to me a loss of current. Check for fully seated bulbs. I understand one bad bulb can affect the other. Sounds like a leak to me, but these problems seem hard to diagnose unless you've een them before. I needlessly took out my instrument cluster.

I just rechecked the bulbs and they are snug in place and yet the lights are still dim. I only have the two fuse box locations, one in the cabin and the other under the hood next to the battery. Frustrating for sure... I did have an alternator fuse blow just this past weekend, any possible connection? The headlights didn't work for a day or two after replacing it. Originally it was just the left low-beam that was out (prior to the alternator fuse going) then once I replaced the high beams with brand new ones they were quite dim. Now the low beams are a SilverStar Ultra while the high beams are a regular SilverStar. Would that make a difference?

No expert here, but the alternator issue would seem to be suspicious, since your other problem was closely related. May need a trip to the dealer unless you can find something in the forum to test your alternator. Might even be a belt. I did have a dim light situation that was fixed by ultra bulbs plus leveling the aim of the headlight. Instructions s/b in the forum. If you have the manual check to be sure there's not another fuse location. Good luck

Are your high-beams as dim as the daytime running lights? If so that could indicate faulty wiring going to the DRL module or a faulty module itself, not allowing the bulbs to switch from half power to full power.
