94 ES300 bad smell after stopping
My 1994 ES300 has around 165K on the odo. Have recently had the ECM rebuilt, recently replaced the EGR valve and all three O2 sensors. Seems to be a little weak on uphill power, but stinks like the dickens after stopping. Punched the catalytic convertor a year ago thinking it was plugged (but ended up being the ECM).

Can you describe the smell. If it smells like rotten eggs (sulphur) than its your Catalytic converter. Try changing fuel brands. It may help.
Could also be a leaking exhaust , or leaking oil on a hot surface, such as on the exhaust.
That's why you need to describe the odour

Could start with Techron or Seafoam in gas tank. A good Seafoam treatment via vac would be better. Check spark plugs, etc... usual stuff. Might help with power issues, slight improvement.
+1 on describe. It could be a rodent too.

The same thing was happening to mine, I poured one of those STP fuel cleaners in my tank and just drove it, the smell slowly disappeared... I assumed it was a fuel problem too.
