99 es300
New to the club! Transmission just went. Of course had to be the u140. Not the average A541 cheapo. Has anyone ever swapped from a U140e to the A541e?? Obviously I know the U140 has electric kick down and the A541 has your average manual kickdown. I have a chance to buy a 98 es300 with the A541. Just didn't know if I had to change whole harness and Ecm for the swap!! Thank you in advance! Appreciate any knowledge or help.

Well the engine on the 99+ ES's have variable valve timing. So if your doing the swap, you'd need to swap the engine and tranny as well as the wiring harness and ECU (w/o VVT-i and A541) for things to go smoothly...
You think you might be better off rebuilding the U140?

Speedkar9 Sorry it took so long to reply to your question. I took tranny out of 99 u140e and main planetary gears wiped everything out. I bought the 98 to do the swap. I'm aware everything that has to be switched over. It just sucks that the u140e has the 10 prong plug for electronic selonoid downshift. And the u541e has the 5 prong wirehArness with manual cable downshift!
