Now you're really just buying a "camry" lol
My girlfriend's grandmother has a gold emblem edition '98 Es300 without a sunroof and without a 6-disc changer. Its also one solid green color. No two-tone, Apparaently it was a "promo" car, she claims.. Whatever that means...

well its not to big of a deal to me because the material is in good condition no rips and it seems nearly impossible to find leather in good condition at that age, and i dont really care much for a sunroof, as long as it looks like a lexus (minus those two things) and drives like one ill be happy

Make sure you post pics when you buy the car!

Before you rule out leather seats, consider the fact that the 3ES leather is incredibly durable. My 98's seats look better than most of the newer cars out there with three years of use. It's a lot easier to clean than cloth and with periodic applications of leather conditioner, the seats will last the life of the car. Having said that, I'd like to see the car that you found. I remember reading a Motor Trend article about the 97 ES300 and they said the leather seating was one of the few options, as well as the CD changer and the adjustable suspension.

lmao i was turned off by it but at the end of the day i have to look at the car overall, engine, transmission, condition of interior and exterior for the price was a steal. and seems like around my area almost all the lexus had torn up leather and if the leather was in good condition the car was more than my price range. i can live with it

Whatever dude, buy it for the car... If you want leather you can find some very good seat cover alternatives, or even nom-torn "used" leather from seats that wreckers stripped down...
I'd personally lean towards aftermarket since you can get That new look without a crazy price
