So, I am a newbie so take i easy on me. I pulled the shifter bezel yesterday to change the wire sub assembly for the shifter bulb. When I put the new bulb in, zap. the backlit lights on the console will not light. They light up when the HL's are off, but when the HL's are on they are dark. Everything is working on the gauges, temp, radio station clock etc, but the back light isn't and neither is the shifter light or ashtray. HELP! I checked all fuses visually and for continuity using my multimeter and nothing. Am I missing something?

did you bump or tweak or disconnect your dimmer **** on the cluster area, to dim/brighten the lights? there is also a separate set of 2 electrical connections on the rear of the black trim piece that goes over the cluster. The dimmer switch is hooked to that.

I think that could be your issue...I dunno for sure. ...i have a similar problem with my radio & climate control going out when I turn on HL, but my dimmr trim is not in place right now, as i just swapped my cluster. I am crossing my fingers that when I re-connect the trim & wires, those lights will work again with HL on.

hmmmmm. aaargghhh. I replaced my cluster and was happy to see all those dash lights working. ABS light won't go out tho.

I re-connected my black trim piece and the 2 wiring harnesses there. NOW.... I've lost my radio & gear shifter illumination. checked fuses...nothing. WTH????

seems strange... I thought I'd have all or nothing. Any ideas? I also added some HIDs from my parts car but can't see how that would impact these interior lights.
