Best Cabin Filters?
It's time to replace the cabin filters on my 2000 ES-300 and I'd like to know which is better, Particulate or Activated Charcoal?
Also, are these easy to replace or should I have my mechanic do the job?
Thanks,
Dave

I think it is located by the gas pedal..just peel back the carpet and pull out the plastic filter cover.
There was a DIY thread on this with pics, but I'm not sure where it was...i remember reading it.

I bought mine on fleabay, but your local auto store should supply a filter at a lower cost than the dealer. Quality shouldn't be any different either.
As far as activated charcoal filters go, don't bother. They are just a gimmick. At best they would last a few days and then be just like any other cabin filter. Charcoal filters just don't last that long in the open air.
The filter cartridge is a bit tight and must be pulled on hard to make it come out and vice versa when installing the replacement.
