Default I feel a thud or a shudder when I accelerate from stop!!

Is this normal to feel a shudder almost like a loose motor mount coming from the rear of the car. It only happens when I accelerate hard from a dead stop. It is very slight but it is noticible. Please let me know if this is normal!

If you're accelerating hard from a stop, the engine's probably firing up during the process. That will usually transmit some vibrations into the cabin even when you're not accelerating hard.

Yeah thanks for replying.I thought that too but it seems to come from the rear of the vehicle. Do you think it's the electric motor causing it? The only time it doesn't do it is when im real light on the pedal at take off. That's why I was thinking a motor mount or drive shaft from the electric motor. Please reply of anyone notices the same. I don't want to waste a day at the dealership if this is normal. Thanks

Default Drive another CT

I think what you're feeling is normal. To verify, I would attempt to drive another CT and see if it feels the same.

The electric motor is in the front with the transmission, this is a front wheel drive car. All power goes through the same front axles. The battery is in back. I think you just need to become used to the new noises from your new car! It happens with many new vehicles. You think something is wrong because it makes different noises and feels different from your old car, and a hybrid is even weirder with the engine starting and stopping all the time! I think all is normal, and you will become accustomed to it shortly. A thump in back could just be suspension shift due to weight transfer, or a loose spare tire or jack, or something in the hatch area.
