2015 RC350 - Noisy Motor?
Although I believe this is normal as my wifes RX350 sounds a bit noisy as well there's time my car might as well be a diesel. I know it's mostly from the DI but it really makes the car seem less refined, a friend today asked if I had a stuck lifter or something else wrong with the motor when sitting idle at a stop light. I've read some posts here where some people said their cars were quiet as a mouse, if that's the case then something is definitely not right with mine. Is the noisy motor typical?

I have been worried about the same thing. Especially if I'm driving in an enclosed area like a parking garage, I feel like l'm driving a diesel. I know direct injection can cause noise, but it seems excessive for a Lexus.

Sorry should have been more clear. It's most noticeable when idling. I can hear it echo of the garage structure as I slowly drive through it. I never thought about it until my wife brought it up. Now it's always in the back of my mind.

No doubt louder than my 350 but I can't comment on how loud the 200 motors should be, overall I think it's a place Lexus needs to spend some development $$$ in making the motors quiet. It's disappointing to hear how loud the cars are for their price point and target audience.

Absolutely. A smaller four cylinder engine will always idle louder versus the V6 in the RC350.
The direct injection tick is still noticeable even here. Only difference is there's less vibration.
