Hi everyone, i recently just got a speeding ticket for speeding at 100MPH coming back from vegas and got it at barstow. Does one have experience of how much this ticket will be and should i still fight for this ticket ? Any advice will help. Thanks in advance !!

does it really say 100+ on the ticket? if so, good luck. once in the triple digit it won't be pretty.... technically it can be misdemeanor i believe

25 mph over the posted limit is several things, no traffic school, could result in more points and severely high bail amount or fine. According to that county 750+ fine.

i also remember hearing that you get docked like $10-15 PER mph over the limit not sure if its true... but it would suck if it is. go to court and ask them to lower your price

You should be glad you are still in posession of your car. If irrc, its 10 more per mile over the speed limit

2 points on your driving record and can't go to traffic school, fine was $700 after 50% discount, because there were 10 of us drove over 100mph caught at different times and license was suspended for 30 days.

Triple digits and your car wasn't towed? I'd say your pretty lucky for not having it towed and dealing fines for that but for your ticket, its going to rape.

Anything over 100 mph is a 2 point violation and can be consider a traffic misdemeanor.

100mph + true that on your lucky that you still have your car or didn't get your license suspended for a little bit!!! I got a ticket in fresno, ca going 99mph. It came out to $600.00 w/ traffic school. those tickets are not cheap at all :x.

to my understanding if your eligible for traffic school you can waive those point violations from your record.

thats just bad luck. sorry to hear hardly anyone drives at the speed limit, as they're racing on by to vegas. but once you cross back into CA, i can see some cops wanting to hand out some tickets as they know people will speed coming back. hopefully the repercussions won't be too bad, especially if you're eligible for traffic school. best of luck!

Paid $1,500 when I got a ticket for driving 110+ on my Corolla back from San Francisco in Kern County. I tried to fight, had to drive to Kern County to plead not guilt, requested a "duex techem" or something which is the radar gun calibration checkup, had to drive back to Kern County hoping that the cop wouldn't show on Valentines day but he did since 3 other people for the same officer tried the same thing. The biggest cost was the insurance since it jumped from $1,000ish/year to $2,200ish/year for the next 3 years, and that was the best rate I could find after being turned down by 3-4 other companies. Yeah, I'm not going to lie, it's really bad.

For those that think it is a misderminer, felony, reckless, it really counts on where you are pulled over. Doing 100 to/back from Vegas or San Francisco where there is absolutely nothing there is a lot different than doing 100 in Downtown LA.

Your lucky your not in jail...over 99mph is attempted suicide/murder. My buddy was in the station holding cell for 2days before he was bailed out. GL
