Default Toll Road Tickets

I was driving home on the 261 north bound toll road in Irvine, and was doing a little over the speed limit. No cops, no biggie. Well I get to the toll booth, and it is a machine that takes the money, no attendant on duty. I noticed that the light was green, and the screen said "This trip is paid for by The Toll Road Co, so i went on through.

Now, my question is, could a speed camera have gotten me and just given me the green, hoping that I'll come back, speed again so it can give me another ticket? I have yet to receive one, but this all happened about a week ago.

And if anyone knows if there are any speed cameras on the toll roads, would you mind sharing?

Thanks

As long as you paid your toll, you're good to go. Now if you went through the toll plaza without paying, your license plate is recorded, and the toll evasion notice will be mailed to your vehicle's registered address, along with a sign up form to sign up for Fastrak.

See, the thing is that I tried to pay, but the machine wouldnt take my money. But because it said this trip is paid for,i'm not really worried about that. I'm more worried about the speeding ticket. Do you know of camera's on the toll roads that will get your speed?

You got lucky. Usually theres always someone working at the booth haha. The thing I did was register my plate with them and just go on through w.out the transponder. Its much easier but I don't save 0.25 when I go through when I dont have the transponder -.-"

If you get a toll road ticket your first ticket will be excused if you give a good story of why if happend. I received two tickets in the mail for two different cars. I called 91 toll road customer service and they excused my ticket.

Are you talking about the speeding ticket, or the not paying ticket?

I have not yet heard of an automated speeding ticket system in CA. Hopefully it's not anytime soon.

Call the 1-800-fastrak and give them your license plate number, They are able to check for you. or you can PM me more information like the date, time, license plate number, direction ( NB or SB) , and which lane you passed thought...( 3 lanes on Irvine toll plaza.)I will find out for you.

Dont worry about the speed ticket, The system can detected how fast you are driving thought the toll booth but ..... NOT FOR THE TICKET

Just an FYI...

Past a certain time (10pm, I think), certain toll roads are FREE. I know for sure that the south OC (261/241) toll roads are free but I don't know about the others since I use these toll roads often. This is due to lack of traffic during non-peak hours. That was the reason why the light was green for you to go through.

As for the speeding thing, I don't think you have to worry about it. It wasn't green so that they could catch you speeding. It was green for the reason above. And if a camera had caught you doing anything, trust me, you'd know because those camera lights are bright as heck, especially at night!
