E60 BMW 5 Series vs W211 Mercedes E Class vs S190 Lexus GS
I need some feedback and advice please. at first i was looking at a 545i or E500. but than i ran across this AWD 2010 GS350 online. it seems to be priced pretty well and it only has 27k on it. my question is does it drive like the other two? its pretty similar in HP, but down on torque. or should i try and find a 2005+ V8 GS430? i dont own a Lexus and any input and advice would be greatly appreciated.
545i 328 hp / 332 lb·ft torque
E500 302 hp / 339 lb·ft torque
GS350 303 hp / 274 lb·ft torque

The GS would be my choice especially a 2010+ because they added BT Audio that year. All three have some cheap centerstacks but nice trimmings. Better fuel and reliability with the Lexus too, though the 3GS was an original L-Finesse car and some bits can rattle. Still probably the safer bet of the 3. If I got a 5-Series it'd have to be a F10, never a fan of Bangles E60.

GS350, no question. The others are too old...and the maintenance on a 2003 E500 is not remotely attractive to me. That was the first model year and didn't benefit from running changes that came later on.

I owned two of the three cars in question, the E60 545 (and later the E60 550) and also the W211 E Class. The BMWs were the best of the bunch, they were light, nimble, great handling cars with a superb ride and handling balance. The E60 with active roll stabilisation and active steering was just a phenomenal car. The W211 was a great car too, but the BMW had it beat in terms of drivability, sportiness and handling by some margin. One thing that really helped with the BMW was switching out the runflat tyres for high-performance summer tires. It made a huge difference.

lol, i have also been looking at SC430s, 645is, SL500s. but no luck finding one that has 40k or less in my price range.
all in all, $10k for a 2003 E500 with 25k seems to be a good deal. it has all its maintenance records as well. i just wish it was black on black and has a nag system, but beggars can't be choosers.

i may have a deal beaker on my hands. the salesperson finally emailed me back. she said the dealership doesnt ship cars and that it must be picked up in person. i replied by asking if i have my own shipping company come get it will that be ok/will they work them? im not going to fly 2,400 miles back and forth just for a car. most dealers i worked with the past have shipped cars or at least work with the company of my choosing.

if you still decide to take the car, I'd also consider an extended warranty (if available) and/or some kind of maintenace-package with virtually any Mercedes product of this vintage. Mercedes products of the 2000s era were well-known for unreliable electronics and very high maintenance/repair prices.
