Updated 2016 Avalon to debut in Chicago
Toyota’s full-size sedan will be the next product to adopt a more aggressive looking front fascia.
A teaser image released today shows the outline of the car with its new front end design ahead of the 2015 Chicago Auto Show where it will debut next week. Toyota didn’t announce any details about the car, which will likely still use a 3.5-liter V6 like the current car does. In that application, it makes 268 hp and 248 lb-ft of torque.
The Avalon entered a new generation for the 2013 model year after debuting at the 2012 New York Auto Show.

But its still ridiculously fresh!? On sale for what.... maybe 2 years? Shocking, I don't think sales are falling off for this model.
On the flipside when I look at that preview picture I immediately thought of FT1 concept headlights. Not exactly the same, but similarities are there.

article quote says it was introduced as 2013 model in 2012 so guess near 3 years, so that's not unusual as a mid-model-makeover, especially since it probably won't be available until later this year probably as a 2016 model.

It just states front fascia, but who knows? If there are more significant changes, I would assume some would also carry over to the ES. That should be about the same time they start to manufacture them in the US, right next to the Avalon.
